Ted Nypaver – Director of Operations
Boston Catering & Events, Director of Operations assembles the complex daily puzzle of day to day deliveries alongside major social events. Ted brings to Boston Catering & Events over 35 years of experience working with in the top Food Service Industry leaders. Ted’s treasure chest of experience includes Jazz Clubs, Private Million Dollar Neighborhood Restaurant and Bar, Corporate Chains, White Table Cloth Dining, International Airline catering, High End Catering and Major Events to Intimate Dining. It is his passion, commitment to excellence and infectious energy that allows the Boston Catering & Events team to continue to be a Boston’s leader of Catering & Events
Meet the Culinary Staff…
Mike Mancino – Executive Chef
Mike developed a deep passion for food, including how to prepare, cook, and serve it, through the legacy of his Italian grandfather’s culinary prowess. He attended the Culinary Institute of America.
Mike graduated with his Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management. Mike worked a variety of jobs in all kinds of kitchens, including working a season in Fenway Park, cooking directly for former Director of Operations Theo Epstein, as well as the ownership group headed by John Henry.
Mike has also worked in private beach and golf clubs in Southeastern Florida, high-end restaurants in the Greater Manchester Area, steakhouses and bistros.
Mike is a die-hard New England Sports fan, loves playing soccer, trout fishing, serving his local church and spending time with his loved ones when he is not working at Boston Catering & Events
Gary Hart – Kitchen Manager
Gary has worked for Boston Catering & Events for 18 years. He started working in kitchens when he was 12 years old. He gradually worked his way through the ranks to Kitchen Manager. Gary keeps the kitchen running, as Mike’s Right Hand Man. He makes sure that all the orders are sent out to the clients specifications. In his spare time, Gary likes to spend time with his family & friends.
The Culinary Staff
Many members of the Culinary Staff have been with Boston Catering & Events for a number of years. They show a tremendous commitment to great product and presentation, which is what they all stand for. We are very proud of each and every one of them in the organization. Each one adds quite a bit to the organization with their varying skills and personalities.
Meet the Sales Staff:
Sarah Stone –Corporate & Event Planning
Sarah has been with Boston Catering & Events just shy of 10 years. Her love and energy for the business is off the charts. She loves putting packages together for our clients and she looks forward to outdoing the last event she did for each and everybody. She has an amazing amount of success because of her overall commitment to the organization. She works as hard as anyone and loves what she’s doing. She is a former chef who brings her knowledge of the culinary world into her menu planning and work with our clients.
Nicholas Plant – Corporate & Event Planning
Nicholas joined Boston Catering & Events with 4 years of experience in the food and hospitality industry. He previously served as a Catering Sales Coordinator for Panera Bread. Nicholas has a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and has extensive sales and operations experience. He enjoys meeting new clients and building strong, lasting relationships. When he isn’t trying to keep up with his 2 year old son, Nicholas enjoys watching basketball and football as well as Netflix.
Darcy Eidle – Corporate & Event Planning
Darcy joined the Boston Catering & Events team full time in May 2017. She has always had a passion for events and knew that she wanted to make a career out of it. She graduated from Endicott College with a degree in Hospitality and Event Management. Before graduating, she interned for Boston Catering and was a part of our event staff, serving & managing weddings and corporate events. She has also worked in hotels and country clubs. Darcy truly enjoys learning client’s style and using her creativity & experience to make their event come to life.
Creating events is something that Allyson loves doing, there is no question about that. However, watching the event unfold and seeing the enjoyment that is brought to others, is what she is really passionate about. With over 8 years in the Hospitality Industry paired with her attention to detail and her continuous creativity, makes her a great Social and Corporate Event Coordinator.
Melanie Balesteri – Office Manager
Melanie has been with Boston Catering & Events for over 6 years. When it comes to customer service you all have probably had the opportunity to speak with Melanie. She is one of the kindest people to meet. She takes care of us internally with her kindness and voice working the phones, taking orders and helping clients speak to our sales team. She is an asset to the organization. She is very positive and has a sweet personality. She knows all of our clients and takes great care of them. You will not get a friendlier voice on the phone that makes you feel comfortable and warm, then when you call Boston Catering & Events and speak with Melanie. She does many other things for the organization, including helping out sales teams with menus and mailings. She does way too many things to mention for our company internally.
Carrie O’Halloran- Customer Service Representative
Carrie has been working in the customer service field for over 25 years. Carrie is delighted to be able to help our clients with all their catering needs. She has a sweet personality and a kindness to her that endears her to not only the sales and culinary teams, but to our clients too.
Carrie recently got married and loves being a newlywed. She enjoys summers with her family at her lake front cottage. Carrie also volunteers and does fundraising for a number of various charities, in her spare time.
Meet the Operations Staff:
Lynn Scanlon – Director of Banquets & Events
Lynn joined Boston Catering & Events as the new Director of Banquets and Events. Lynn has worked in the hospitality industry since she was in college. She has worked as a server and bartender. Lynn has worked at off premise catering companies for the past 15 years. She has worked in many roles from serving and bartending to event manager and culinary. Lynn’s enthusiasm and vision of the clients vision, have exceeded guests and client’s expectations at each event she has worked. She is the proud mother of twin girls that are 21. Lynn loves spending her evenings trying out new ethnic restaurants and spending time at the beach with her boyfriend. She is very excited to be part of the Boston Catering & Events team!
Antonio Colindres – Utility
Antonio has been with Boston Catering & Events for 11 years. He is in charge of vehicle maintenance and he makes sure that all the equipment is cleaned properly, including washing dishes and polishing silverware. He makes sure that the equipment is ready to go out on its next event. He also is instrumental in maintaining the building, making sure the ovens are cleaned and the floors are mopped to name a few of the important tasks he does for us.
